Child labor and eye candy

Our children are at that age...
the age where they think it is fun to help us fold laundry, clean the house, wash the cars, and do other not-so-fun chores.  One day we will probably pay them for theses duties.
But, for now we are taking full advantage of these days and putting them to work (for free!).

My hunk of burning love.
This doesn't really have anything to do with child labor but I sure enjoyed watching him work. :)

What chores did you do as a kid?  Were you paid?  If so, how much?
What do you have your kid(s) do?  Do you pay them?  If so, how much?

I know we did chores as kids but I forget how much we got paid. Right now Porter has chores (per his request) taking out the trash and feeding Lexie everyday. 5$ a week is what we told him we would pay... although we frequently forget payday until he reminds us... oops!

I never got an allowance, we just did housework as being a member of the house. We've had to try a couple different ways to figure out what works best for us. So our kids have the chores they do as helpful family members (dishes, laundry, vacuuming) and then they have harder "extra" jobs. They get to choose to do the extra work and they get paid, i check their work and sometimes make them re do id they are being lazy. It seems to work now.
