Summer Fun

I finally decided, for the second time, that it was time to sit down and try to catch up on my blog. A few weeks ago, we took that awesome one-week trip to Oceanside. Of course I have so many pictures that I am going to break it up.

The first day we got there, we all took a walk down to the beach to scope out the scene.
Lincoln was all smiles...
And Amelia wandered around pondering the meaning of life.
Ryan chased Lincoln with some seaweed.
The kids found a sand castle that someone else had made...
And quickly destroyed it!
It was pretty crazy how dark the sand was.
These two dudes spent a lot of time reading...
and playing games on phones...
and doing puzzles and wrestling and then wrestling some more!
(Pictures to come!)

The next day we headed down to the pool where there wasn't much sun to be found, but Amelia wore her sweet shades anyway.
We played some basketball...
and walked around looking slightly inappropriate...
giving the rest of us a good laugh!
We swang and gave the thumbs up that we were having a good time.
We cruised..
And played more basketball.
I guess our family needs a third person to make it to the hoop!
*Side note: check out those swimming trunks!
If you know Derek, you know he's a gray, tan, brown and black clothes kind of guy.
So... when he came to the register at Wal-Mart holding trunks that had fluorescent stripes on them, I seriously about died!
Point proven by color of shirt in this picture and first picture of this post... and pretty much every other picture you will see him in! :)

This is one of my favorite parts of vacations with families - the times when everyone just kind of finds themselves hanging out and talking. We definitely had a lot of laughs about the crazy things some of these guys used to do!
We even got to watch The Bachelorette (it was when it was down to three guys.)
We just couldn't handle the drama!
Great times!!
More great times to come!

Oh wow - that Bachelorette pic is hilarious! It looks like you all had so much fun and I'm so glad that you got to have that trip together. Looks like a blast.
